Wherever your
book begins.
I can help.

From an idea you’ve yet to put into words to a manuscript ready for its final polish, I offer thoughtful, individual support at each stage of your book.

01 / Nonfiction ghostwriting

Your knowledge.
Your perspective.
Your voice.

You have something worth saying. I help you turn it into a book that gives your ideas the attention they deserve.

Through interviews, research and close collaboration, I develop a manuscript that expresses your thinking in clear, engaging language. You remain the author, with full credit and ownership of your book.

My focus spans thought leadership, philosophy, the humanities, psychology and spirituality. I work with authors who want to explore substantial questions and share a considered perspective.

From a new idea

I help define your message, identify your reader and develop a structure, then write the manuscript using your insights and agreed source material.

From existing material

Talks, articles, notes and draft chapters can become the starting point for a book. I assess what you have and develop it into a coherent manuscript.

02 / Editing

A stronger book.
Still your writing.

A good edit respects what you’re trying to say while helping you say it more effectively.

I look at the manuscript at the level it needs, from the organisation of its ideas to the wording of individual sentences. My aim is to improve clarity and the reader’s experience while preserving your voice.

Developmental editing

An examination of structure, argument, pacing and content. I identify gaps, repetition and opportunities to develop ideas, with recommendations for revision.

Line editing

Close attention to expression, tone and flow. I refine sentences and paragraphs so your writing reads naturally and communicates with precision.

Copyediting

A detailed review of grammar, punctuation, usage and consistency, including clarity and the small discrepancies that can distract a reader.

Manuscript evaluation

A considered assessment of what’s working, what needs attention and how to approach the next draft. Useful when you need direction before a full edit.

03 / Proofreading

The final details
deserve care.

When the writing and editing are complete, proofreading gives your manuscript one final, careful review.

I check for spelling, grammar, punctuation and consistency issues that remain before publication. For a formatted manuscript, I can also review the text for layout inconsistencies within the agreed scope.

If the manuscript needs more substantial changes, I recommend the appropriate level of editing first, so proofreading happens at the right stage.

Choosing the right stage

Editing or
proofreading?

Editing develops and improves the writing. Proofreading checks the finished text.

If the structure, argument or language needs work, I recommend editing. Developmental editing looks at the bigger picture; line editing refines expression; copyediting addresses language accuracy and consistency.

Proofreading comes after those decisions are settled, ideally once the manuscript is formatted. It checks for remaining errors and inconsistencies rather than rewriting the book.

If you’re unsure, I can review a sample and recommend the right level of support.

04 / Self-publishing guidance

Beyond the
final chapter.

Finishing a manuscript brings a new set of decisions. I help you understand the options and plan your next steps.

I offer practical guidance on preparing your book for self-publication, including formatting, ISBNs, cover design, distribution and publishing platforms.

The support is tailored to the project and your experience. I can help you make sense of the process, evaluate what you need and approach publication with a clearer plan.

How long does it take to write a book?

The timeline depends on the book’s length, the amount of research and the material already available. Time for your feedback matters too. Once we have discussed the project, I set out a proposed schedule and milestones so you know what to expect before we begin.

How much of my time will you need?

Your involvement centres on sharing your ideas and experience, answering questions and reviewing the developing manuscript. You don’t need to write the chapters yourself. We agree an interview and feedback schedule around the needs of your book and your availability.

Can we work together remotely?

Yes. I work with authors around the world. Interviews, discussion and manuscript feedback can take place remotely, with the arrangements agreed at the start of the project.

What does a ghostwriting quote include?

Your proposal sets out the work included: developing the structure, interviews, agreed research, manuscript drafting and the specified review stages. It also makes clear which editorial or publishing services are included or quoted separately, so you can see exactly what the fee covers.

Will my project remain confidential?

Yes. I treat enquiries and project material confidentially. Every project is undertaken under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). I don’t disclose author names, titles or identifying project details without express permission.

Who owns a ghostwritten book?

You receive the authorship credit. The contract sets out the transfer of rights and agreed payment conditions, so ownership and permitted use are clear before work begins.

How do revisions work?

I specify the review stages and included revisions in your proposal. You provide feedback at those stages; I discuss any additional work or change of scope with you before proceeding.

What happens after I enquire?

I review your message and respond with the next step. That may be an initial conversation, a request for a manuscript sample or further questions about your aims. Once the scope is clear, I provide a proposal for your consideration.

What if I’m not sure which service I need?

Tell me where you are in the process. I can review a sample and recommend the level of support that best fits your manuscript and aims.

Can I combine services?

Yes. I can propose a sequence of support suited to your project, with a clear scope and fee for each agreed stage.

How are fees agreed?

I provide a tailored proposal based on the manuscript’s length, condition and the work required. I set out the deliverables, timeline and milestones for your approval before work begins.
